3 Tips For Designing Your Home To Inspire You

By in Uncategorized with 0 Comments

If you spend a lot of time at home, whether you work from home or you’re a stay-at-home parent, it’s important that the space that you’re spending the majority of your time in can inspire you. While you might not need to be inspired on a daily basis or with great ideas that will revolutionize the way the world works, being able to think creatively about things can help to keep your mind sharp and avoid pitfalls like monotony, depression, stagnation, and more.

To help you see how your environment can help you in this area of your life, here are three tips for designing your home to inspire you.

Incorporate Elements Of Play

It’s been shown that small children learn best when they are able to play. In play, kids can interact with the world around them and try out new things that they are trying to learn. This doesn’t have to change when you become an adult. And if you’re able to incorporate play into the design of your home, you may find that you’re able to think differently about so many things.

To bring more play into your home, consider incorporating playthings into the design and function of your house. For example, you should keep trinkets and toys around to manipulate throughout the day. You could also swap out your stairs for a slide or hang up some swings or hammocks. These playful elements could be just what you need to feel inspired.

Designing Your Home 1

Leave A Lot Of Open Space

Inspiration can’t strike or take root where there’s no room for it. With this in mind, an inspiring home will leave a lot of open space available for creativity to bloom.

While you can and should still have all of the basics that make up a home, if you’re able to design your home as an open concept or leave larger gaps between furniture or room distinctions, you might find that you have more space to work with both mentally and physically for creativity.

Make Things Easy To Rearrange

A lot of inspiration comes from thinking about things from a different perspective or in a different way. Your home can encourage you to do this in other areas if it’s easy to do this about your home by rearranging things often.

When buying furniture or other pieces for your home, try to find ones that will be relatively easy for you to move around your space on your own, like a sleek vintage writing desk or soft padded chairs. With furniture and accessories that you can and will easily move about and rearrange, you can teach yourself to think about all kinds of things differently and get inspired to find new ideas and ways of doing things.

If you want to be able to feel inspired by the place you call home, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you design your home in such a way.
