3 Tips For Keeping Your Shower Clean And Free Of Stains

To have a happy home, you also need to have a clean home. However, it’s so easy for homes to get messy or dirty after a very short period of time, especially if you share your home with family or roommates.

One of the dirtiest rooms in most homes is the bathroom. But with some simple tips, tricks, and a little bit of effort, you can find ways to keep your bathroom free of the big stains and messes that can sometimes be found in these rooms. To help you see how this can be done, here are three tips for keeping your shower clean and free of stains.

Protect Your Shower Glass

If your bathroom has a shower with clear glass, keeping this surface looking clean and clear can be a big challenge.

One way you can make this easier on yourself, according to Katie Holdefehr, a contributor to Real Simple, is to protect that glass of your shower from having hard water or soap scum build up on it. To do this, use a product like Rain-X to treat the glass around your shower. Then, as the water runs on it, it will more easily be repelled. While you’ll still have to clean the surface, you likely won’t find that you’re having as many problems with the glass as you did previously.

Break Out Your Toothbrush

Although you can get a lot of your shower and other bathroom surfaces clean with a cloth or a sponge, for the small, hard to reach places, what you really need to use is a toothbrush.

Emily Fazio, a contributor to HGTV.com, shares that a toothbrush is great for cleaning things like the grout between tiled surfaces in your bathroom. You can also use a toothbrush to clean the actual tile in your bathroom so that you can easily get into the corners, cracks, and crevices that could attract and hold onto mold and other bacteria.

Lightly Clean Everyday

For most people, it will usually be easier to do a little light cleaning of the bathroom everyday than waiting for a big mess to set in to then have to really scrub. Especially when it comes to things like the shower or tub, cleaning those areas lightly right after you’ve used them will help them stay cleaner longer and will make clean up easier to manage. If you clean your bathroom in this way, Berit Thorkelson, a contributor to Better Homes and Gardens, shares that you should only have to really deep clean your bathroom once a month
